Successful Delivery of Customized Stainless Steel Distribution Cabinets for South Korea's Offshore PV Systems

These cabinets have been specifically designed to meet the unique challenges of solar power generation in marine environments along South Korea's extensive coastlines.

As South Korea accelerates its offshore PV projects, particularly in areas such as Jeju and Busan, these systems operate in harsh conditions. High humidity, salt-laden air, and frequent typhoons pose significant challenges to equipment. Offshore PV installations rely on power distribution systems that are corrosion-resistant, waterproof, and durable enough to withstand extreme mechanical stress. Our stainless steel distribution cabinets have been engineered to meet these exacting demands.
Equipped with premium electrical components—such as ABB circuit breakers and Chint surge protectors—these cabinets feature a rugged stainless steel enclosure with an IP65 protection rating. They offer comprehensive protection against overloads, short circuits, and leaks, ensuring reliable operation even in volatile offshore environments. Additionally, the cabinets’ salt spray-resistant coatings and sealed structures effectively prevent moisture and salt intrusion, while their tough design endures the mechanical stresses caused by typhoons and harsh marine winds.

In offshore PV farms, these cabinets ensure a stable power supply to critical equipment like string inverters by automatically isolating faulty circuits to prevent power generation interruptions. In coastal PV installations, they resist the corrosive effects of seawater mist, ensuring long-term durability and reliability.
Throughout the project, our technical team worked closely with our South Korean clients to understand their specific needs, such as the requirement for high humidity performance, superior corrosion resistance in saltwater environments, and remote monitoring capabilities. Based on these insights, we customized the material coatings, internal wiring layouts, and protection configurations to meet local standards.
